About this fan
The fan for buildings that are not that tall
Roof height, not floor area, is what rules most buildings out of a big fan. The 3.7m is rated to mount from 3m, the lowest in the range, which makes it the only HVLS option for a lot of two-bay sheds, older workshops and single-storey units where the underside of the roof sits at 3.5 or 4 metres.
Within that limit it does real work: 5,000 cubic metres of air a minute across 380m² of floor. That is a two-car workshop, a small production room or a studio covered by one fan, replacing the three or four pedestal fans that were doing the job badly.
The lowest running cost in the range
370W at full speed, which is half what the 4.3m draws and a third of the largest sizes. Five aerofoil blades turn between 20 and 100 rpm, the widest speed range of any fan here, so it can be wound right down for winter destratification and still have plenty in reserve on a hot afternoon.
At 38kg it is also the lightest fan in the range, which keeps the mounting straightforward on the older roof structures this size tends to go into. The mounting point is still assessed as part of the quote.
Same build as the big ones
Nothing is downgraded to hit the entry price. The motor is the same permanent magnet direct drive with no gearbox and no oil to change, the blades are the same aluminium-magnesium alloy, the controller is the same variable frequency unit, and the warranty is the same 5 years.
How installation works
Hardwired to its variable frequency controller and bolted to structural steel or concrete, so it goes in through a licensed electrical contractor. The kit includes hardware for concrete, I-beam or square steel plus a safety cable that carries the fan independently of the bracket. The fan is supplied by Festoon House as an authorised Down Under Fans reseller, and installed by our own licensed electricians across New South Wales.
Because this size goes into lower buildings, the usual question is clearance rather than access: you need the blades comfortably above head height with the fan mounted between 3 and 5m. On a 3.5m roof that leaves very little room for an extension rod, so the drop is specified once we know the exact height.
The 5-year warranty requires certified installation and is void if the fan is later relocated. How installation works
