Yes, they are built for it. The strings are IP65 rated, sealed against dust and protected against water jets, and the plug-in range runs on an IP67 rated power supply, so the whole system is made to live outside. A run along a gutter, eave or pergola edge is exactly what they are designed for.
We do. The solar set runs 8m with 160 LEDs in the same 2700K warm white as our plug-in range, and the string is IP65 rated. Because it needs no power point, it suits fences, balconies and garden beds where an outlet is out of reach. Each solar set works standalone, with its own panel.
Up to 30m in total. The plug-in strings use quick-connect ends that form a waterproof seal when joined, so you can link three 10m runs, or combine a 10m with a 20m, and power the lot from a single outlet. The supplied power supply connects via a 3m tail to the first LED.
The main difference is joining. The plug-in range links together, up to 30m from one power point, using sealed quick-connect ends. The solar set is standalone, joining to nothing, mains or solar. It has its own panel and needs no outlet, which makes it a good fit for fences and balconies. Both strings are IP65 rated, 2700K warm white.
Measure the run first so you know how many metres you need. Then clip the header cable along the gutter, eave or railing and let the drops hang straight down under their own weight. Drops are spaced 25cm apart with LEDs every 10cm along each drop, and drop lengths vary to create that uneven lower edge.
No. Our icicle lights are mains powered or solar. The plug-in range runs on 30V DC extra low voltage from a supplied power supply, which makes it DIY friendly. The solar set works entirely from its own panel, with no power point and no wiring to run. Battery options are not something we stock.
Warm white only, at a 2700K colour temperature. That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation. Warm white reads as candlelight rather than retail signage, which is what gives a display that considered, lantern-lit quality. We do not stock cool white, blue, multicolour or colour-changing sets.
Keep the strings dry and loosely coiled, never tightly wound, so the cable and drops keep their shape. A storage tub or the original packaging works well, kept somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. A little care at pack-down is the difference between a quick setup next year and an hour of untangling.
